The J. David Lowell Foundation
This foundation is dedicated to the memory of a world-renowned exploration geologist, James David Lowell and is privately funded.
The J. David Lowell Foundation was established in 2022 and provides support to the community through various programs.
Pillars of the Foundation
EDUCATION
Academic year 2024-25 marked the launch of the Lowell Math Scholar Program, a performance pay program that provides financial incentives for students based on their participation in accelerated mathematics classes, achievement on mathematics assessments, and participation in mathematics enrichment experiences.
Today, the J. David Lowell Foundation continues to support mathematics programs for schools in the Flowing Wells Unified School District and hopes to grow. Through the Pima Foundation, we also fund multiple scholarships to support local students.
COMMUNITY HEALTH & WELLNESS / YOUTH SPORT
The J. David Lowell Foundation is committed to the health and wellness of the local community through sport. In conjunction with the Tucson Citizens Velodrome Committee, the foundation helped build the Tucson Velodrome near Musselman Honda Circuit and the Pima County Fairgrounds.
